A common problem among children at school age is having head lice. Lice prefer to live in clean and oil free hair so that it can travel easily in different the locations of your head. There are more 100 eggs that can be laid by female lice in just 10-12 days. The nits or eggs of lice are mostly found at the base of the hair. They cause intense itching and can be seen easily.

The eggs of lice have brown color and may be found close to the scalp. They will turn white or clear once hatched and may be found further from the scalp. Nits are usually found attached on hair behind the ears, around the scalp and around the nape of the neck. These parasites have claws that grasp in the hair and skin to suck blood.
