What Natural Solutions are there for Oily Hair?

Beauty is vain.  Most often, vanity has caused a lot of people to spending too much on things unaware that there are many alternatives to the products they are buying.  What is better than to buy or make use of things coming from natural ingredients?  There are products that are affordable and effective at the same time.

If you do have an oily hair, buying hair products to treat an oily scalp from store-bought products can be expensive and most of the time ineffective.  Some of these products would either dry your scalp making it flaky as these products may contain unpronounceable chemicals.  There are helpful solutions to your oily hair that you can try and apply at home.  All natural solutions tend to reduce the oil from your scalp and make your hair looking and smelling fresh and clean.  The following are some tips to treat your oily hair through the use of the following natural solutions:

1. Recycle your hair shampoo bottles and prepare basic shampoo mixtures.  You need to recycle your expensive shampoo bottles to put the mixtures you prepared.  With a basic shampoo recipe, combine one part distilled water with two parts liquid castile soap. Shake the bottle gently before use.  Do not make mixtures for more than one week's worth as there are no preservatives included extending the useful life.  Herbs can be alternative mixtures added to your basic shampoo.

To prepare one:

Bring half a cup of water to a boil then add two tablespoons of fresh mint and a tablespoon of rosemary. Steep the herbs for 20 minutes then strain the mixture. Add two tablespoons of the infusion to ¼ cup of the basic shampoo recipe every other day.

On alternate days, add ½ a teaspoon of aloe vera gel and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to ¼ cup of shampoo. Squeeze fresh gel out of an aloe vera plant if you've got one. Add three or four drops of witch hazel extract for a great smell and astringent properties.

2.  Rinse well.  Rinse your hair well after applying the shampoo mixture.  Oily hair needs two rounds of washing to get it completely clean.  You may give your scalp a massage as you wash your hair.

3.  Use a conditioner or any natural conditioning mixture.  Apply conditioners only to the tips of your hair especially when your ends tend to be dry, frizzy, or riddled with split ends.  Rinse your hair completely.   If you do not wish to put conditioner but instead plan of rinsing using natural solutions, the following are solutions that you should prepare:

Boil a pint of water then steep three peppermint tea bags for five minutes. Remove the bags, allow the tea to cool, and then add a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. Use this mixture as a finishing rinse. This solution acts as a tonic for the scalp and removes soap residues that can weigh down oily hair. It also smells wonderful.

So why take the plunge of putting all your money in buying expensive and ineffective hair mixtures to treat your oily hair.  Natural solutions are safe and inexpensive. They also allow you to wear a gorgeous, clean and fresh hair without making your hair look greasy and dumpy. Look great and apply natural solutions to your oily hair instead.
